National Museum of the American Indian

I went to the Native American Museum a couple weeks back and I drew some of the masks that they had on display. I'm more satisfied with taking a sketch to a more finished look. I went ahead and did the same process that I did in the previous colored piece.

I’m still not entirely comfortable with the process of working with color. I’ve been winging it using a blend of 100%, 60%, 30%, and blending those together to build a palette. So far, it’s been working but time will tell if it becomes a reliable method.

Thats all for now — I’m gonna pursue doing an editorial-esque image next, from start to finish so look out. I’ll probably upload some sketchbook thumbnails in-between now and then. 👋🏼
